Principal John Shepherd runs the council at James Woods High School where Chris and Meg attend. He is the one of recurring characters that appears on Family Guy where he becomes the School Principal, a job that he stresses alot for disciplining students mainly to Chris Griffin that Shepherd reports and discusses it to Chris' parents Peter and Lois for his ignorant behaviour like he's always failing school as his grades are very poor and his rude behaviour at times, however in one episode Shepherd manages to drop out and expell Chris for being the dumbest student at school. Like some bumbling principals you see and watch on television, Principal Shepherd comes across quite arrogant, childish, mournful and manipulative at times when it comes to his job as the reason for his behaviour because he's gone for through a tough divorce as Peter took over his job in The Peter Principal as he's done a better job then him like he protected his daughter Meg from being bullied at school and then in episode Crimes and Meg's Demeanor, Shepherd has his arguable moments for splitting up with his ex-wife Fiona.
