Pepe is a forest fairy assigned by Annie's grandfather to watch over her in Sera Island and train her in the art of alchemy. He is unhappy about the arrangement due to Annie's lack of desire to work, but he tries his best to teach her what it takes to be a great alchemist. Despite his small stature, Pepe is a fully grown-up fairy. He is extremely sensitive about it, and often explodes in anger whenever someone tells him that he looks like a child. Pepe bears a visual similarity to Popo of Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, another fairy who assists the protagonist with alchemy.
