The first boss in appearing in the Metroid Prime Trilogy, the Parasite Queen is a result of the Space Pirates parasite testing with Phazon. The boss is found on the Space Pirate Frigate Orpheon. The boss utilizes shields that circle around it to protect it's self from Samus's attacks. It's weak spot is it's mouth, which is revealed once the creature is scanned. Once defeated the boss falls and damages the frigate's reactor core, causing the ship to self-destruct.
