A Great Marquis in Hell, Orias controls 30 legions of demons. He is depicted as a lion holding snakes and riding a horse, and teaches men their fates as dictated by the stars' alignments.

In Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
In the beginning of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, Orias is responsible for the death of Commander Gore. Immediately following that event, the player must fight Orias as the game's first boss fight. He also appears later on the lower floors of sector Delphinus in random encounters.
Trivia
Orias plays a role in a bit of technical Strange Journey trivia. Atlus (Company) implemented copy-protection in the game that would prevent illegal copies from generating any random battles. Besides not being able to gain any experience, more importantly this prevents the player from being able to recruit any other demons into his/her party. The idea then, is that Orias' boss fight would be an insurmountable roadblock and prevent the player from advancing in the game.
