After Mothra is killed by Desghidorah, her son Mothra Leo grows into adult form to revenge for his mother. His eyes and wings turn green, and he also learns several forms of energy attacks. With enough preparation, he fights Desghidorah and finally achieves his success.
Transformations
As earth's new defender, Mothra Leo fights several monsters and gain more transformations to upgrade his power. <u>Rainbow Mothra</u> Healed by ancient magic in water, Mothra's body turns more colorful and energetic. <u><u>Aqua Mothra</u></u> A form allows Mothra to move freely underwater, compensating his weakness of lacking underwater battle skills. <u><u><u>Lightspeed Mothra</u></u></u> A form allows Mothra to travel beyond lightspeed to do time travels. After encountering an undefeatable enemy Grand King Ghidorah, Mothra turns into this form to travel back time to kill Ghidorah when he was young and weak. <u><u><u><u>Armor Mothra</u></u></u></u> After Mothra travels back in ancient times and fights Grand King Ghidorah's younger form, he fell into a long sleep. Mothra's ancestors covered him in silks they made to let him recover. After sleeping for more than 100 million years, Mothra grew impenetrable armors all around his body. Finding out Ghidorah is still alive, Mothra wakes up as Armor Mothra and challenges him. Armor Mothra immunes to all of Ghidorah's attacks, and easily crushed Ghidorah's body by merely flying to him. <u><u><u><u><u>Eternal Mothra</u></u></u></u></u> Mothra's final form after dismissing all armors around his body. This form's abilities are unknown.
