Microwave is a superhero in the Freedom Force series of games. Sporting radioactivity-based superpowers, Microwave hails from an alternate future where robots are dominant, and humans hunted.

Sent from the future to alter the past, Microwave made his debut approximately halfway through the original Freedom Force game. In a plot point similar to the Terminator movie series, Microwave is a robot warrior sent back in time from an alernate future to destroy Freedom Force and ensure his timeline's creation. However, in his first and only battle with Freedom Force, Microwave is defeated; in an attempt to subdue Microwave and possibly learn more about him, Mentor (Character) Characters/Mentoraccidentally erases most of his memory banks. Now faced with free will instead of programming, Microwave chooses to fight on the side of good, joining with Freedom Force in the their battle against crime and evildoers everywhere.
