Style of Play

Well known as one of the best midfielders of the decade, Michael Ballack moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2006 and there were high hopes. Although he has not replicated the class he showed in Germany, he is starting to find his feet and looks as if he has a few more years in him. He is current captain of Germany and has won 79 caps for them with an impressive goal scoring record with 35. Incidentally has won the Bundesliga 4 times, the German Cup 3 times and been named German Player of the Year 3 times but has only ever reached the final of both the World Cup and the Champions League.
