Overview
Megurine Luka is a vocaloid that was created by Crypton Future Media. Her voice bank was first released in January of 2009 for the Vocaloid 2 engine. Her voice was provided by the Japanese actress Yuu Asakawa. Luka has the distinction of being the first bilingual vocaloid, as her voice bank was the first to support both Japanese and English vocals. A side-character commonly associated with Luka, born out of the vocaloid fandom, is "Tako Luka," a creature that resembles Luka's head, but with octopus-like tentacles in place of hair. Tako Luka makes some appearances with Luka in vocaloid-related media and merchandise.
