Lance is the last Elite Four member that the player has to beat before facing the Champion in Red/Blue/Yellow and their remakes FireRed and LeafGreen. With the retirement of Red he became the Champion of the Indigo League in Gold and Silver. Lance is originally from Blackthorn City, a city known for Dragon-type trainers. His cousin Clair (Character) is the Gym Leader of Blackthorn City and his grandfather is the elder of a clan of Dragon Masters.
