Private First Class Joseph Allen is a playable character and the main protagonist in the early part of Modern Warfare 2.

You start Modern Warfare 2 as Joseph Allen. As him you learn how to shoot an assault rifle, throw a grenade and run the obstacle course. After this tutorial you get into the real action; the first mission "Team Player". In this mission you drive around on a Humvee rocking a Minigun and clear a school of some bad dudes.    Once this mission is over you meet the lovely Shepherd, he asks you to join Task Force 141 (Concept). In this task force you go undercover in Makarov's posse and play the controversial mission "No Russian". However, at the end of this mission you are shot and killed by Makarov.
