Hargon is the most powerful wizard in the world. At the start of the game he sends his troops to attack the castle of Moonbrooke. An injured soldier makes his way to Midenhall Castle an warns the king. The king's son (along with his cousins the Prince and Princess of Cannock and Moonbrooke respectively) ventured out into the world to defeat him. Hargon hid in his castle in Rhone until the trio fought through his lieutenants an defeated him.
