Francis is a large tattooed biker dude and one of the survivors in Left 4 Dead. It is speculated that Francis' face was modeled after the lead developer of Left 4 Dead, Mike Booth. Francis also has the Lambda symbol from Valve's Half-Life (Franchise) franchise shaved into his hair as well as being known for hating almost everything.

Official Description

The following is an official description of Francis written by Valve.

"Cocky, loud, and pretty sure he's indestructible, Francis acts like the zombie apocalypse is the world's biggest bar fight. When the virus hit, everybody else stockpiled food and looked for a place to hide. Francis found a gun and had some fun. No cops, no laws, no order—if it wasn't for all the zombies, he could almost get used to life like this."

• Francis has tattoos of the Star of Chaos from Warhammer (Franchise) and Jesse James (not from Warhammer).
