DracoLord
The DracoLord is the arch enemy of the first Dragon Quest game. His grandson also appears in Dragon Quest II, and aids the party. In earlier versions of the game, he was called the Dragonlord.

The DracoLord's fortress, Charlock's castle, is on an island a short distance away from Tantegel Castle. However, in order to reach the castle, the hero must first gather the necessary items to create the Rainbow Bridge. The DracoLord himself is a very tough foe, assaulting the hero with the powerful Hurtmore spell. Once defeated, he reveals his true form, transforming into a ferocious dragon. His scales are impenetrable to most conventional weapons and magic, and only Loto's Sword is powerful enough to damage him.
