Deron Williams is a 6'3", 210 lb. Guard from the University of Illionois at Urbana-Champaign who has played for the Utah Jazz. In his junior season at the University of Illinois the team advanced to the NCAA Finals but lost to the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. Following this season Williams declared for the NBA Draft. He was drafted third overall in the 2005 NBA Draft. In his rookie season he averaged 10.8 points per game and 4.5 assists per game. In his second season his numbers improved to 16.2 points per game and 9.3 assists per game. The Jazz won the Northwest Division title that year. They would advance to the Western Conference Finals that year. In his third year he would average 18.8 points per game and 10.5 assists per game. The Jazz would make the playoffs but lose to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round. In 2008 Williams would be part of Team USA that would go undefeated and win the gold medal in the Beijing Olympics. In the 2008-09 season Williams would miss 13 of the first 15 games of the regular season due to a second-degree ankle sprain in the preseason. That season he would average 19.4 points per game. He is one of the best point guards in the NBA but has yet to be chosen to an All-Star Game.
