With an inside source as inspiration Hatter has taken it upon himself to write the true story about vampires and their secret society, but his screenplay has caught the attention of Velvet Velour (Character), who cannot let him endanger the Masquerade. Though she seems to do so reluctantly she asks the player to acquire the text and silence the source, but not to lay a hand on Hatter.
The inside man turns out to be one of the "Thin-bloods" at the pier in Santa Monica and the player is forced to 'take care of' him.
