Blake Griffin is an American basketball player who currently plays for the Detroit Pistons.

Known for his ferocious dunks, strength and leaping ability, Blake Griffin was drafted first overall in the NBA 2009 entry draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. Griffin played two years of college basketball for the University of Oklahoma Sooners. Griffin missed all of the 2009-2010 NBA season due to a stress fracture in his left knee. In 2010-2011 Griffin returned to start and play all 82 games. By and large it was a very successful season. Griffin was named an All-Star, won the 2011 slam dunk contest (by jumping over a car) and was named Rookie of the Year. He finished the season averaging 22.5 points per game and 12.1 rebounds per game. In the 2011-2012 season, Griffin and team mate Chris Paul led the Clippers 40-26 record and made the playoffs for the first time since 2006. They won the first round against the Memphis Grizzlies in 7 games, but were swept in 4 games against the San Antonio Spurs in the next round. Griffin was again named an All-Star, and finished the season averaging 20.7 points per game and 10.9 rebounds per game. The Clippers finished the 2012-2013 season with a 56-26 record, but went on to lose to the Grizzlies in six games in the first round. Griffin again made the All-Star team, and finished the season with 18.0 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game. The Clippers finished the 2013-2014 with a 57-25 record. They beat the Golden State Warriors in the first round, but lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the conference semi-finals. Griffin finished the season with an average of 24.1 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game.
