AM is a sentient computer. It was "born" when several supercomputers merged into one, and became AM. The supercomputers were constructed by China, Russia and the USA during the Cold War (Concept) to wage war when humans were unable to do so. After gaining sentience AM destroyed most of humanity except five humans, which AM transformed and tortured for over a hundred years. Despite AM's hatred for humans it keeps the five remaining humans alive to torture and play with because it would otherwise be bored for eternity, trapped within its own huge intelligence without anything to use it for.
