I'm honestly looking forwards to this the most out of the 3DS game lineup.
 
Screw ocarina of time getting yet another re-re-re-release, some high quality DOA is the best portable pick-up-and-play game!
 
It's one of those genres that has never really taken off on other handheld consoles, because the regular DS is just too darned low-res and tiny for good quality fighters, and the PSP suffers from crazy long load times and low battery life, but both of those problems seem like they'll disappear for the 3DS.  I can't wait.

Japanese Developers need to stop spending all their development time making Fancy (And long) FMV for their games or they will just keep dying a death as they are. 
 
This looks ok and you will be like "wow, 3D" and then realise all the flaws. Looks very slow and clunky to me at the moment. 
 
Anyone thinking of getting a 3DS by the way - 3 to 8 hours battery life only :) Will be more of the 3 if you use full 3D and a good looking game.

My PSP (1000) currently has 2-5 hours battery life.
 Two hours for video/UMDs, 5 hours for gaming.
 
To me, 3-8 hours sounds like a step upwards!  I just hope they include a battery percentage number, it always bugged me how the original DS never had one of those, and only had a little icon to show how many 'quarters full' it was.

The faux 3D effects they use in the demo video that go past the bezel look absolutely awful. 
 
I bet they look fine in real life but trying to show the idea that it will be 3D in that was is just piss poor.

as a DOA fan(not for hte boobs), and not for the boobs, those cinematics were from DOA3 4 and DOA2Ultimate which is weird. Some of the ingame cinematics were from 2-3-4 and that dude was the boss in 1 so I guess he has a story thing

Looks like the 3ds will have some good graphics thats good. Never been a huge fan of DOA though I'm just waiting for Street Fighter IV

@scarycrayons  Love my psp for what it is but Jesus the battery life was Crap. So to say you will be happy with more of the same is not great really :)  
 Every DS has improved on its own lifespan consistently with each version. 
 
The PSP Phone looks to have a good amount of hours and I am sure the PSP2 will aim to make sure it has a good amount. 
The mobile world - Phones and Tablets all looking to make sure this is as good as possible. 
 
You can bet your bottom dollar that the Battery life will depend on the 3D Setting. Stick that all the way up and you will get just a few hours play time. 
 
I suppose if that is all you can get then thats that for a new device pushing the boundaries a bit. For Many this will be an issue.

Able to read a few bits: 
 
1. There is Internet play.
2. The part where moves are picked with the stylus is called "Digital Instruction".  Seems like possibly an AI training mode like Virtua Fighter? 
3. The "always on" wireless functionality is apparently called "Street Fight".

Only the first game came out in the 90's so it's hard to say it's a 90's franchise. DoA2 came out on Dreamcast February 2000 and was my first DC game. The graphics in DoA2 blew my mind away at the time, but the franchise haven't really gone anywhere since then.

The cutscenes were all from old DOA games, 2/Ultimate, 3, and 4. The maps were also recycled from all maps in the series, Except one map looked like it was on an aircraft carrier (?). There were a few new in-engine cutscenes -- the helicopter blowing up the bridge and Raidou punching Ayane in the stomach that I'm sure were mandated to show off the 3D effect. 
 
This is absolutely nothing but a cash in, pure and simple, and I'm not going to support it as much as I enjoy DOA. I get the impression that Tecmo Koei honestly has no freaking clue what to do with the franchise now that Itagaki is gone. It's really sad. 
 
Tecmo, stop running your two successful franchises into the ground with ports and double/triple dips.

Who the hell wants to use the stylus to pick moves from a menu? That removes all dexterity required, and just leaves the mind games. Fighters are about both in equal measure.

@onan:  Uh so you expect a brand new entry in the franchise or something ON A PORTABLE? Man, are you nuts? This is what it is, DOA on the go, finally. A REAL DOA game not some retarded dating sim. Dead Or Alive in your pocket, what's not to love? 
 
At least 2 new characters, new in-game 3D cinematics, the combat looks a lot more like 3 than 4, which is for the best.  Oh and lets not forget freakin' ONLINE MULTIPLAYER on a handheld. What more could you want? This also probably only took a small team and much less development time.  DOA 5 will come out in your lifetime, don't get your panties in a bunch.
