E3! Welcome back (home)! (10-6)

by thegamergeek

So, as we all know, E3 is slowly but surely approaching and I love lists. Each time the leg on your clock ticks, it gets closer. Some are excited, some are dreading it. I've been through about 4 E3's (watching them). The last public and the "new" E3. So, as we all know, E3 is slowly but surely approaching and I love lists. Each time the leg on your clock ticks, it gets closer. Some are excited, some are dreading it. I've been through about 4 E3's (watching them). The last public and the "new" E3. I noticed nothing really different besides the fact that I saw a lot more games and less ugly models with guns, half-dressed. I enjoyed the new one a lot more to put it short. So every year, I'm always on the edge of my seat, thinking "What's going to happen this year? What will it be? Will someone fall down? Where am I going with this?" and this year is no different. Although the Swine Flu is being a dick when it comes to people coming to California, I still think there is some potential for this E3. Oh, and you know, I might be looking forward to some things that may or may not happen. Kind of like this:

10. Beatles: Rock Band

This is Rock Band's first leap into the whole "pick a band name and throw it into our game" type marketing plan and they chose a lot wiser then, you know, that other game. The Beatles is a treasured name that consumers will jump all over; it only makes since to make a game based around them. Oh, and hey, why not make it extremely highly priced? I probably won't get this, solely because of the price, but if I can pick up Rock Band 3, I'll definitely pick up just the game because I really want to play me some Beatles.

9. Official Fat Princess launch date!

As you all know, I dig the Fatty Princess, and I've been noticing a lot lately that it has no got a confirmed launch date and that disappoints me. They could really throw this out for 40 bones and I'd pick it up. Still have no idea why I think this. Words can't explain my enthusiasm for the game. The bad thing about all this is that in the end, I'm going to be disappointed because of the fact I'm hyping this up to be the greatest game EVARZZ! When in-actuality, it'll probably be a game I play for a week and say "This is awesome" then never play again. I'm confusing like that.

8. Next Xbox 360 bundle

I may have put this a little high but I have a reason. Lately, my 360 has been freezing, locking up, and not working, you know, the normal Red Ring of Death symptoms. So, I'm hoping that I can hold this 360 until maybe they announce one for November and then me get that and it come with a nice little game or some MS points. Hey, they should package Alan Wake with it, maybe? A man can dream.

7. New Guitar Hero 5(6?) or Rock Band 3 news

As I stated earlier, I'm planning on picking up one of these games this year. Still undetermined on which one though. Last year, I totally skipped out on buying either the GH or Rock Band because I needed a new computer but this year, I'm set to go. But I've been thinking lately, if the playlist of these two games don't intrigue me, I'm probably just going to buy World Tour or Rock Band 2. I really have no motivation to buy the new ones besides the new playlist so far. That's what I'm wanting this time at E3. Some news. Not just them flipping a piece of paper that says all the songs, knowing damn well I'm not going to be able to read all of that. Get your act together, you two!

6. Looks at some sports games

This is a very great way to wrap up a blog, I know. But I'm wondering what's going on with games like NHL 10, NBA 2K10, etc. I don't want to just see Madden, I want to see the other games and see if NBA Live has anything new to challenge the 2K series again this year. Last year it was the DNA feature and this year it's the _____. Fill in the blanks, EA. Also, wondering what improvements will go down on NHL 10, I know for a fact that there can't really be too many available. NHL '09 was great. Will the 2K hockey series for that do anything at all to save it from just going down the tube?...oh yea, and probably some Madden footage.

So yea, that's just some of the things I'm looking forward to at this year's E3, next week I'll probably post 5-1 of what I'm hoping for, so, until then, see you next time!
