So these last few days have been pretty busy. Not alot of time to play video games. I did play some more FFIV though. Don't know if I mentioned it but I am playing FFIV, FFVIII, and I just started Godhand. I think I am almost done with IV, I just went through the cave that takes you to that place where the GF's live. I know they aren't GFs in IV but I can't remember what they are called so I will use the VIII name for them. Anyways thats where I am on that, beat the queen but couldn't hang with the king. His move just wiped the whole party out. I don't like the way this far in the game and even though everyone is around level 50 it still feels like I am not strong enough. Training is just greuling in this game. Anyways, update on VIII is that we played through the end of the first disc and just last night we finished beating NORG and getting Laviathan. Which is ironic in a sense because that is exactly who you fight when you fight the king in IV. Had to stop for the day though so thats where we were. Godhand, yea that is a game. I understand the draw and appeal and why I have heard about "most underrated game" blah blah. The game is good really, for what it is. And as it has been for the last three games I have played through (Paper Mario TYD, Enter the Matrix, Ghost in the Shell SAC) the game is older so you have to give it a pass for lousy controls. And they are lousy. I can't really explain why it is, but they just don't feel right. I don't know if I am doing something wrong but I am finding the game to be very hard. I started playing the game at normal difficulty and I just kept getting my butt kicked so I went back and started over on easy and still I am finishing a level with just barely a scrap of life left in my life bar. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Anyways, I will finish the game, it won't suffer the same fate as Splinter Cell did. (A game where I have tried to play through it twice now on two seperate occasions and just couldn't finish it. That game is basically the definition of frusteration. Not a stealth game done right) I especailly like the way you buy your upgrades with money and you can go to the casino and get more money pretty easy on the video poker games so if you sat there for a few hours you could buy all the upgrades you would need. I might have to do that to keep myself from getting my butt kicked. Course I can't do it now because........... thats right, as I mentioned before my box finally came to ship my PS3 to headquarters to get serviced so instead of bringing the trusty old PS2 down to finish the game I will just hold off and play it some more when I get my 3 back. It won't really matter because Godhand's story is so crazy, I won't have to worry about forgetting anything. Infact there really isn't much of a story to speak of in the first place. But enough about that, full thoughts forethcoming. So its FFIV and FFVIII till 3 comes back. If that makes any sense. I am done for now. Look forward to some ranting about Gran Turismo PSP that you might not be aware of when I get back.
