Art of Rally is wonderful top to bottom, from the great sound track that often makes me miss a brake point to the low poly world that still delights and plays tricks on me. It features a surprisingly sound driving simulation that makes good tradeoffs to get a great mix of simulation and arcade feel on the stick (definitely leaning more towards arcade). Once you start to master the controls a bit there are very few things that satisfy quite like power-sliding down a series of switchbacks down a mountain. The game does not feature many multiplayer features other than ghosts and leader boards, but the nature of rally racing makes that not really a huge issue. Time attack with ghosts is great as you hunt for your perfect stage. Special mention for the PS5 version of the game must be made since the haptic triggers are simply put, amazing! Nothing has made me more excited for the new Gran Turismo and the haptic feedback they manage with the triggers than how the PS5 port handled their triggers. The feedback for the brakes and gas is really game changing. I really enjoyed this game and if you have ever had some fun in a time attack in another racing game you will find tons to love here.
