A "Game" in the truest sense

I liked crysis for the most part. Up until the end, I came back to it with eagerness. However, as the game developed its story, I concurrently developed a dislike for the game.

The gameplay was awesome. The suit powers make you feel like a badass and solve many annoyances of FPS. For instance, super speed makes you run around levels like a PCP addict. Super strength allows you to punch harder and jump higher. By the end of the game, changing between these suit powers was extremely satisfying.

Where crysis lost me, was in trying to develop a story. They attempted to do this within the last hour or so of the game, and it turned me off like a fat girl vomiting...okay, maybe that was a bad analogy. It felt like I was cast into a play of horrible, hammy actors, who were forcing themselves to affect emotion, and then expecting me to play along. For instance, there was a character who I had only rescued and bantered briefly with. Then, all of a sudden, she started joking with me and my cohort like she was one of the gang...and everyone else played along. But not me. Sorry crysis. But you're like the weird kid who walks up to you at parties and starts laughing when everyone else does.
