Hard to not see how much this game follows in the footsteps of Portal. In both how the game is structured and the main narrative hook. The plot starts with Ava being woke up my T.O.M. on board a spaceship above Europa. It turns out the ground crew appears to be in dire straits and it is up to Ava to figure out what is going on. To reach the inner sanctum 70 different small puzzle rooms must be solved to find out what really happened.

Most of the gameplay moments consist of using a tool that can move around energy orbs to power doors. It starts off simple but each room solved just keeps ramping up the different items that must be used to solve the puzzle. For me personally, I enjoyed the fact that none of the puzzle rooms required some obscure way to succeed. Other than a few that required some creative thinking I never got stuck in one place for too long. Which might make this game really easy if you came in hoping for some real brain teasers. Half way through something happens that gives a new set of tools to solve puzzles in a new way. Without going into any details it gives the puzzle rooms some new tricks that keep the game from getting boring. Plus it only takes about 5 hours to get to the ending. Mixed with the variety of puzzles you won’t get tired out by seeing the same type over and over again.

Meanwhile, the way it tells the story line isn’t anything new with most of the game is spent getting to know T.O.M. by talking to him. Yet the overall narrative takes a turn you might not expect. The only real downside is that it just ends with no real consequence for the action that the player can take. Really, in general, the mystery might be the weakest part of the story line other than a few pivotal moments. Overall this game was alright. It has just enough stuff to do to keep the puzzles fun to figure out and I liked seeing the story play out most of the time. Worth checking out if this style of puzzle game interests you.
