Typically, fighting games don't interest me all that much. But I grew up with Mortal Kombat. This game was the first one I played, and it remains to be my favorite. Not because of nostalgia, but because it's the most intuitive and tight game in the series. The controls are great, and the graphics look pretty smooth, even still. That's likely due to it being digitized. The game is notorius for being difficult, but I find this to be good, since it makes you get far better at the game. Or you could just cheat your way out (pansies). The Fatalities in this are my favorite. They're bloody and over the top, but not as silly as recent releases. All in all, this is my favorite fighting game around.
