Hi, I'm SL33T and this is my first Review on Giant bomb. A while back I wrote this review on the BF:H forums and it got featured on their front page. So I though I'd put it here to for all GBers to see! So without further padding out, here it is!

So far I have have enjoyed BFH thoroughly, save for a few important issues. So lets start with them so we can have the good news last and feel all happy.

The Bad

First and foremost are the connection issues, but it is a new game and I'm sure the dev team will fix these as soon as they can.

The next big issue that I have with the game (from the stand point of a Team Fortress 2 and Unreal Tournament migrant) is that headshots only provide a damage bonus. Not the satisfaction of an insta-gib headshot, which everyone loves the feel of.

Next up is my disappointment at the knife, again, since I have migrated from TF2, I was hoping for instant kill backstabs. Without this the knife just seems sort of feeble.

The next few are some game balance issues. The biggest one of these is tanks, perhaps a small amount of damage from small arms fire would be nice. Maybe something like 1 point of damage per bullet regardless of weapon. Then I can't count how many times I've been killed by three soldiers spamming flaming bullets, this does detract from the fun somewhat.

And my final point in "The Bad" section is my annoyance at the way the actual gamemode works. I found it very annoying that once you run out of respawns, that's it. I personally would much prefer this game if after the respawns ran out, the living remainder also had to be hunted down and killed. Making it possible to make an extraordinary come back.

Oh and as a side note, nobody like micro-transactions.

Now onto the happy things in-

The Good

Well it is really good fun to play the base gameplay is solid if not for the points I stated above. With the gunner being gunny, soldier being soldiery and the commando being commandoey.

The graphics, though not being state-of-the-art, are pretty and work well with the games style. After playing a few rounds with friends you really do start having loads of fun.

It is really a team based game, and you can feel that after your first game. That sort of air about the game that ramboing will most of the time get your team nowhere. Although this team-based gameplay does suffer from the lack of voice chat which would be nice to see implemented in the future. Currently I actually host a skype chat with the friends I play the game with so we can organise ourselves better.

But overall this is a solid game, with its flaws no doubt, but so does every new game (and some old ones). So I guess I have to say that, yes, this game is very good and will definitely only get better, well done dev team!
