Well, me playing and reveiwing this game came randomly out of nowhere. While i was surfing Steam one day during their fantastic sales were on, i noticed this game for an incredibly cheap $2 - $3. Clicking through to the game's page, i saw that it had an incredibly simplistic art style consisting of these Lego looking military forces. I decided to pay for it, might as well since the low price point meant after an hour and a half of play meant i had spent my money well and didn't really feel any guilt after buying it. So i bought it.
The game is an action-based third-person shooter. As the sole surviving member of a Foreign Legion assault team the player is tasked with defending one of the nameless villages you pick from hordes of invading rebels. Gameplay has an arcade like feel, being designed with short and sweet play times, having the levels time based. Most of the game is made up of defend the objective type levels, except with a an exception, such as the level with a village's civilians having been barricaded themselves within the Town Hall and must be protected until the arrival of a rescue helicopter and the level filled with chickens. Awesome.
The controls are a little hard to get a hold of, since it's almost like trying to control a tank. I say almost, since a little practice and the over-the-shoulder view you can go to help out in some of the rough patches. The art style is like Battlefield: Bad Company mixed with Team Fortress 2 with a touch of the recent movie based Lego games. It's quirky and easily stands out.
The enemies in the levels range from your standard rebels to suicide bombers, they will stop at nothing to take you out. They will often climb onto roof's and circling around buildings. The harder difficult levels are not for anyone who hasn't got a firm grasp on this game. Air support can be called to help replenish your ammo. You, the player, also get to buy weapons and other goodies with the money earned from completing levels, ranging from pistols to a minigun and an assortment of accessories to customise your guy.
A score is kept throughout the game, for entry on a high score board, which is represented visually by a bucket of blood. The game also includes achievements based around things you can do in the game such as kill all of the chickens (easily obtainable will one of the later levels added into the game after release) and get through a level as quickly as possible. Most of them can be easily attained, and sometimes without thinking, but it's the harder achievements that your going to go after.
If either a Steam sale is on or you have literally nothing else to spend your money on, this is a definate recommend. Otherwise, there's probably a few other games you could spend that money on.

Good Points:

+It has a quirky art style.
+It's fun to run and gun with Lego's that shoot out blood when you kill them.
+Unlockables.
+A giant chicken with two miniguns.

Bad Points:

-The almost tank controls may be a turn off for some people.
-Barely anything to keep you going after your initial playthrough.
