This game is amazing. There's so much to it, you can't pick out one feature that makes it amazing. It's a little bit of everything coming together so well, like a video game trail mix. But like real trail mix there's some bad granola in here. I'll keep it short and to the point, since there's not much left to be said.
I'll start off with the good parts.
The graphics are gorgeous. Usually GTA games look poor in comparison to other titles on the system, which is excused because of the ammount of content. But not in this case, this game looks just as good, and in some cases better than other titles on the same platform.
The game play is excellent, and has become more serious. No more double dildo bludgeons or jet packs, which for me is a good thing. The driving feels different, and the cars do actually feel like different cars which is great as well. The cell phone interface ties everything together quite well. The cover system could have been better but it's still functional.
The soundtrack is, as expected, amazing. And the sound effects them selves are great too.
The story is a more adult narative (not adult as in boobies and 'The aristocrat' type jokes either). The plot is great, and would even make for a good movie.
Multiplayer is finally here, and Free Mode is amazing with pals.
But now onto a few complaints I have with this game.
The cell phone is neat, but when trying to collect Flying Rats, the last thing I want is Brucie wanting to go out for darts "WINNER STYLE BABY!". There is sleep mode, but the phone rings far too often when it's not in sleep mode.
The cheats are fairly sparse and can't be used in multiplayer. I can understand why the Guns Health and Ammo cheat isn't allowed in Ranked Death Match, but in a player Free Mode game... why not? It's quite annoying to spend 10 mins collecting ammo for a big shoot out with the cops, to get killed early on and not beable to pop in a guns cheat and quickly join the fun again.
There are also a lot of missing vehicles in multiplayer which is kind of lame. There's only one van, SUV and Pick Up truck in multiplayer. Kind of dissapointing. But it's excusable considering what the multiplayer IS offering.
Overall. Not a perfect game, but amazing nonetheless.
