Rise of the Pirate God is a strong finish to a great series

After four entertaining episodes, The Tales of Monkey Island series ends with Rise of the Pirate God.

After the rather dialogue-heavy Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood, Rise of the Pirate is a fifty-fifty split between one last big puzzle sequence and an action sequence to resolve the main story thread. It's definitely a dark Chapter with some grim themes and imagery that couldn't be a further cry from the light atmosphere of the first chapter. In this sense, the evolution Telltale managed to infuse the five chapters with is rather impressive. Many of the characters make one final appearance, and the whole thing builds up to the finale quite well. Overall, it is a pretty strong finish to a series every adventure game fan should play.
