Lair of the Leviathan continues to uphold the series' quality

The Tales of Monkey Island is Telltale's revival of the classic Monkey Island series, point-and-click adventure games that feature Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate. The tale has been split into five chapters, and this middle chapter had me quite excited after the mind-blowing finish of its predecessor.

The adventure gets ever more weird!
Since these five games could essentially be counted up to form a single game, they all feel quite different in terms of general atmosphere, and Lair of the Leviathan takes Guybrush to one of the craziest locales yet. The environments are the most imaginative they've been so far and the events are both more far-fetched and more hilarious. The gameplay has obviously remained exactly the same, but the puzzles do get more intriguing with every new episode and Lair of the Leviathan has a couple of rather clever enigmas. However, there are still a couple of spots where I felt Guybrush ought to have simply handled a situation by doing something, but was denied the plainest solution by the game, instead having to go off and find a contrived—albeit funny—way to fix the problem. It's pretty much the only annoyance in an adventure series rife with funny moments and great dialogue.

I'm well aware that you are probably already going to play Chapter 3 is you've managed to get through the first two, so perhaps all of this is superfluous, but rest assured that Tales of Monkey Island has managed to keep up its winning streak up until now. Definitely worth your money, once again.
