The Battlefield: Bad Company will blow your mind.

Gameplay
The best thing in Bad Company is the destruction.  Almost every tree, wall, vehicle, and person can blow up someway or another.  Which is good because there are red barrels everywhere and the huge explosions never get old.  You are usually always equipped with grenades, air strikes, and mortar calls to annihilate anything in your path.  The game even goes out of it's way just so you can blowup even bigger blasts. Blowing through walls to reach an enemy is very satisfying and probably the best way to enter a building. There is a new healing mechanic which makes you repeatedly stick yourself with a syringe when ever you get hurt.  This makes the game really easy except for the fact that you are a bullet magnet.  Apparently the AI can see you half a mile away, threw brush and trees and hit you repeatedly.  You don't take a huge amount of damage, but it is kinda annoying not seeing the enemy unless they stick you with 5 tracer rounds first.  Despite that, the controls are nice, shooting feels good, and the shaky cam is a nice touch.  Surprisingly, sound helps the game a lot.  Not only do the guns sound like the real thing, they sound like the real thing really far away.  It feels good when you know when your sniping very far away that all they will hear is a slight tick.

Single Player
This is the first in the battlefield series to put in a well developed single player.  You are Preston Marlow and have been recently transfered to Bad Company.  Basically the military just threw you in with the rest of the hooligans in the military.  Your squad members are goofy misfits and have great dialogue that  gives each of them their own identity as you fight along side them.  Their isn't much as for story, basically you and your squad are trying to strike it rich in pursuit of gold.
Multiplayer
There is only one online mode which is a real let down.  The mode is called gold rush.  You are split up into attackers or defenders.  The attackers must destroy two of crates before they run out of funding (in this case lives) and the defenders well, defend them.  If the crates are destroyed, the playing field moves backwards to two more crates until all 5 sets of crates are destroyed.  The game play online is really well rounded.  IE the helicopter is a monstrous destroyer, but for most first tries, you will likely crash until you become good at it.  The maps are large enough for every play through to be different.  The destructible maps can really change the game in multiplayer.  Many times the buildings the crates are in loose all surrounding walls forcing any attempt to reach it and protect it very difficult.  Explosions in multiplayer seem to tone down damage because no one fire a single bullet so don't worry about that.  As you go up in rank, you will receive upgrade points to spend on weapons and equipment.  The game is split into a class system of 5 classes: assault, striker, demolition, sniper, and support.  Every class has their pros and cons and every class can be good, including the support class, depending on how good you are.

Summary
Battlefield: Bad Company has a great single and multiplayer experience that has me slightly wishing for more.  More More More explosions!!!  A great shooter experience to satisfy the need for carnage in all of us.
