Well, what can I say? Zelda's done it again, however, this time, in a more "drawn" fashion with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The Wind Waker contains everything we love about Nintendo's long running fantasy series concerning Link's adventures, but also giving these grand franchise a stylistic handrawn apperence to it, and containing a solid amount of depth for all Zelda fans to truly endorse in.
The story of Wind Waker is a simple yet deep and engaging one. A hundred years have past the events of Ocarina of Time, and Link continues his adventure sailing through seven scattered lands and seas. Link is also living with his grandmother, and with his younger sister Aryll on Outset Island, which, according to Link's knowledge, is one of the very few surviving islands in the great seas. Link sees that Ganondorf has stolen the magic of the Great Seas, and using it to spread darkness until Link dares to stop him. It's up to Link to find out what Ganondorf is up to, and use the Wind Waker to control the wind to save fate. The story of Wind Waker is simple and your typical Zelda scenario, but tells the story with sweet natured humor and a certain energy the gives the Zelda series a breath of fresh air. The story in Wind Waker is nothing immensely big, but told with smart charm to make it truly fly high.
The visual presentation in Wind Waker is quite simply flawless. Wind Waker both is a stylistic yet detailed experience to look at. The enviornments thrive with colour and life, making Zelda a world both charming and amazing you. The visuals almost have an artistic and handrawn look towards them, which makes Wind Waker visually a flwaless title.
The flaws in Wind Waker are so minor, but are really notes towards fans of the series. The soundtrack of Wind Waker is good, but somehow lacks the nastolgia value of the previous Zelda titles. The story in Wind Waker is predictable and since it is the same story, is far from ambitous. Wind Waker is clearly intened for younger fans of Zelda, so the darker tones of Zelda aren't here, but, everything else is executed so well here in Wind Waker, these flaws are incredibly minimal.
Overall, Wind Waker is another Zelda classic just waiting to be experienced. Get ready to play arguably Nintendo's most artistic hit ever, and arguably the greatest Zelda hit ever.
