As far as works of art go The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is up there with the Best-of-the-Best. And in my opinion this game is answerable only to Wind Waker (Yes thats right)
From waking up in Kokori to delivering the final stabbing blow to Ganon in the ruins of his castle. This game lives and breathes adventure and its one of those games that you know is going to be good before you even open the shiny gold packaging.
The gameplay is perfect from the first dungeon to the temples and the free roaming. The free roaming side is huge Link can fish, swim, walk underwater, go horse riding and warp to certain points by playing his magical ocarina.
The Exploring side is second to none, the amount of places you can go is astounding,
Child Dungeons; Great Deku Tree, Lost Woods, Jabu-Jabu's Belly, Dodongo's Cavern, The Hyrule Castle Courtyards to the Castle itself. The Temples; Fire Temple, Water Temple, Shadow Temple, Spirit Temple and the Temple of Time and many, many others. Ice Cavern, Lakes, Domains, Valleys, Markets, Villages, Shops, Farms, Mountains, the massive Hyrule Fields, Caves and Evil Lairs. In addition to the exploring of the locations they ALL have their own unique puzzles.
The combat is a great system from the attacks to the dodges to utilizing the shield in conjunction with the weapons. The ranged combat is equally stunning having their own target ranges, mounted on a horse or not. The enemies are extremely varied and there must literally be 500+ enemies you face in the game. The Bosses you come up against are worthy of a completely different kind of recognition, the way you must defeat them are all completely different, fun and challenging. Including mini bosses
I know its strange to be reviewing a game as old as this but when it comes to Ocarina of Time, its age is not a factor.
