Nobody really talked about this when it came out, at least not in my field of vision, but this game features a shocking amount of antisemitic imagery that i found really unconscionable. The Happy Merchant/Banker alone should have clued the general public off but I've long since accepted that the average gentile is simply not going to pick up on these positively ancient and pervasive racist images.
Aside from these issues i think the basic game loop really only works on people for whom the addiction loop is desirable. The things that are supposed to make it more than just a slot machine game aren't interesting to me and as I said above, the aesthetic trappings are repulsive to me.
