The third major installment in the Call of Duty series was released for PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and Xbox (making it the last for the last two consoles). It was a launch title for the PlayStation 3 and Wii in North America, Europe and Australia. This is, unfortunately, the last game in the series to be rated T for Teen (outside of ports), as later games have became more mature with it's content (which is very problematic).
The campaign jumps between various characters from different countries. Because of this, the player is able to play as soldiers from America, Canada, Poland, and the United Kingdom. The environments look authentic which allows the game to be immersive in addition to having great graphics for the time. There are also nice particle effects that come out of the environment when you shoot at enemies (which have some pretty stiff death animations). Even vehicle stages add good variety to the game. The game gets a bit too stingy with the checkpoints at times and some levels have annoying parts, but overall, this is a fun and awesome game. But don't talk about the Wii version because it's garbage.
