Who would have guessed that there was a third game in Black Ops...and that it gives references to older titles of the Black Ops series? Like when Khalil mentioned Raul Menendez, the main antagonist of Black Ops 2 and if you go in the database you can find old letters from Hudson and Alex Mason. With great graphics for 2015, an amazing Jack Wall soundtrack, stellar voice acting, and so much more, Black Ops III sets the standards for the future of gaming.

This game introduced the new specialists with their own amazing abilities, in which you can customize the protagonist's appearance. Unlike the collectibles in previous COD games, the collectibles you find can be put up as decoration in your hub room. There are also Cyber Cores in the campaign, which are a set of cybernetically-implanted offensive abilities. There are three skill trees worth of Cyber Cores available to the player. Each type has a total of six abilities, along with one passive melee ability.

  • Control: This tree is useful for missions that have heavy robot opposition, such as the beginning of Life or the latter half of Hypocenter. It has limited use against human enemies, but can still be effective.
  • Chaos: This tree includes a variety of abilities to cause havoc among groups of enemies, especially on humans.
  • Martial: A melee-focused tree that involves getting up close and personal with enemies to do serious damage. It also comes with a few diversion abilities to make sure the player survives.

The campaign forgot to follow up on the original Black Ops games. Even though it does mention Raul Menendez and has messages from BO1, there's hardly has any indication that this is a part of the Black Ops series. The campaign is also lackluster and overall confusing since it has a bunch of plot twists. It seems like this is because the writers wanted to make a more complex story with a lot more depth; however, the presentation and execution of these elements makes the story really confusing and at times not making any sense, most likely due to time constraints. The hitmarkers are a bit off as well. Realistic difficulty is a nightmare. It makes the campaign practically unplayable because it's veteran mode, but you die in one (two, if you're lucky) hit.

The game (specifically on consoles) has some annoying loading times when players are loading in and out of matches, but matches are still enjoyable. Also, supply drops return from Advanced Warfare and are repetitive as ever.

There's even a more detailed Zombies mode than the previous games. Der Eisendrache became one of the best Zombie maps in the game. A Nightmares mode even replaces all of the campaign’s enemies with zombies which is quite neat. Many of the fan-favorite characters of the series (excluding Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen) are absent, however.

This game is the most awesome since Black Ops II yet.
