The sparks of a truly special return to the World of Light dashed on the realities of game making in the 2020s. The fact that the game that was eventually killed was so vastly different to the game that released is a double edged sword, telling both of a devoted developer trying to do their best for the world they were working with to serve the community they had, and also a profound lack of vision.
If given the chance to improve to its 1.0, there's a world where Breaker had a Hades-like reintroduction to the mainstream, but it released both too early and too late. Launching with too unrealized a concept into a market segment that even Bungie found shaky.
