I avoid Match 3 games like the plague. However, when Dan mentioned on the Giant Bombcast that 10000000 was a Match 3 game with a fun twist, I wanted to give it a chance. I am glad I did. The game is fast enough to be interesting at all times. Since you can slide entire rows or columns, I find this makes the game much more fun than a swap-style Match 3 game. Spotting a 4+ match that requires sliding a tile across the entirety of the board is quite satisfying. Allowing this level of flexibility seems to open up bigger matches, which leads to more combos, which leads to more rewards - and so on, and so on. The game plays well, feels good and was almost the right length from beginning to end.
My only issue with the game was my final run to 10000000 points. My previous high score was 2,500,000 and I expected to have a few more runs and upgrade passes before reaching 10,000,000. However, a particularly lucky run and swift finger flicking led to a run of 12,000,000 points - and the game was done. I wanted a bit more time out of the game. I wanted to play more.
I look forward to You Must Build a Boat, the next game in the series by the same developer. I do believe I will also be deleting my save and restarting 10000000 from the beginning. Highly recommended.
