It's a solid idea, distracting you from a slow-moving third person shootout with a hacking grid that grants buffs and debuffs, but it just isn't kept fresh enough, even throughout its disciplined runtime of about 10-12 hours. A number of things could have brought this up a few notches for me: a better story, more control over the numbers and modifiers, some kind of planning phase for your loadout, more varied environments, more varied enemies, and so on. But that's just not the game they built. The game we have in front of us is totally fine, but I was hoping for far better than that when there's so much else to play out there.
