Didn't Do Much for Me

NEN is an interesting game. I backed this on Kickstarter because the creator had an interesting idea I wanted to see flourish into a game. I purchased this and didn't immediately play it but I did save the game for my 2014 Extra-Life charity stream.

I played through, and beat, the game in about 1.5 hours. Those 1.5 hours weren't exceptionally difficult nor were they thought provoking. The only reason the things in the game meant anything to me was because I Kickstarted the game and knew that the game creator focused the game around his own anxieties and fears. This doesn't really come through in the game if you don't know those things.

I hate to base a review around the price of a game but I don't know...this is a coin toss for me. I'm going to not recommend this game. All you do is walk left or right...there aren't any puzzles, there isn't any dialogue, the scares are telegraphed and not especially scary (subjective, I know), and the short nature of the game make it really hard to recommend.

If you want to pick it up I would say get it as cheap as possible. Your mileage may vary but I felt this was a huge letdown.
