Avocado pie sounds gross. It's not though. I made it. It's delicious. It's different than the normal stuff, but it's good. The trick is convincing people to try something different. To the Moon is a visual novel type of game. The player must click on items on the screen in order to move forward with the story. Other than a jarring, late game action sequence, there isn't much more to this. However, the writing does stand out and tells the story of a tragic relationship as seen through the eyes of a pair of scientists-for-hire who help people realize their dreams just moments before they die. A lot has been made regarding the story. Some people love it. I've heard other opinions that state the writing is contrived. I thought it worked. The SNES style pixel sprites are charming if you're a fan of that. It took me approximately 5-6 hours to finish the game in two sessions. That time was spent reading and admiring the visual design. Somber piano music plays throughout the story. Is this game art? Sure it is. So is Doom. So is the doodle on my desk. More importantly, To the Moon tells a pretty cool story. It does something different. You should check it out if you like to read.
