Thought it was not the first game I have ever played it was the first that I ever played until the end credits, and I loved every second of it. From the very beginning of the game, as Link awakens from his dream of Zelda's narrow escape from kidnapping and his encounter with Ganon, this is a masterpiece. For their time the controls and graphics were revolutionary. Though the graphics are definitely showing their age, they still maintain the charm that makes them so appealing despite their lack of high-res textures. The controls and the gameplay were state of the art back in the day with its innovative z targeting concept and they still remain solid to this day. To sum up, if you have not played this game yet, you need to play it. I have not played the wii shop version but I imagine that it is the same, so if you can't get the original, spare the ten dollars for the privelege to play this true classic. You won't regret it.
