No More Open World

No More Heroes, in many respects, is an absolute failure.  The graphics are technically sub-par, the open world is drab and ugly, and the story as a whole is largely disjointed.  However, if you can look past the often boring and frustrating transitions within the open world, you may find No More Heroes to be quite a hidden gem.  Each of the different scenarios are unique and fun, and it isn't unheard of to find yourself mildly amused by the often self satirical and witty writing.  Another area where NMH shines is the impressively exciting combat system.  While the combat through out the game is simple and changes very little, the core mechanics of the system are strong enough to remain interesting throughout.

No more heroes is a game that not everyone will enjoy.  If you are not willing to be patient through the lesser moments, chances are you are not going to enjoy this game.  However, I found NMH to be an exciting, funny, and witty game that shows great potential as a series starter.
