This is Doom, for the Xbox Live Arcade. Doom was one of the early First Person Shooters back in the day and became immensley popular all around the
web. It was released for the PC by ID Software in 1993. To this day, Doom spanned a large variety of games like Halo, Call of Duty, and Quake and all those games
trace their steps back to Doom. Microsoft did a really nice job porting this copy of Doom to their Marketplace, it includes exclusive co-op mode and Online
Multiplayer which excited some people waiting for the release. And it also included all 4 episodes and the original soundtrack, all of the additions from the
original PC version.
The controls for this game is so much easier than the PC, it's very smooth and something you could get useful very quickly. These controls are actually
ripped off from the XBLA and PSN versions of Castle Wolfenstein 3d and brought it to Doom, because the controls are very identical to those two games.
Every place you go, theres demons all over the place. The point of the game is to kill everything you see on your sight and not to die, which is why this
game comes with a good variety of weapons to wield like shotgun, chaingun, and rocket launcher. But i call it the Penis Rocket because looking at it with
out picking it up looks like this big mean dangerous crotch wanting to be picked up.
I was surprised how good this port of Doom is. There was never a good port of Doom back in the day because of bad pixelated graphics, muddy textures, and
missing levels. The only way to really enjoy the true Doom was playing the PC version, but now that Microsoft made a decent port theres no putting this game
down. It contains all the levels including the 4th chapter, the original soundtrack, and exclusive multiplayer only for the Xbox 360.
If you want to enjoy Doom now in our modern time, then i suggest you buy this Xbox version, or Ultimate Doom for the PC, their both the same except the Xbox
has a bit more features.
You might be wondering why i'm reviewing this old game when there is a large collection of games out there TO review like Killzone and Modern Warfare, but theres
something about Doom that really caught the attention of gamers. And the reason is because this game fucking rocks. You might say the graphics are terrible
and the sound is boring but that's what makes Doom good. The graphics made it horrifying and the music fits it well. If you want to play Doom, pick it up
now for Xbox Live Arcade, it's only 400 microsoft points and it's a pretty long game so it'll keep you aquipied for a while.
