Red Dead Redemption is a fantastic game, let's get that done right off the bat and even though i may have a few gripes with it it's still one of my favorite games of all time with one of my favorite characters of all time.

Let's hit the gameplay, the shooting feels good and the auto-lock helps out a lot in making you feel like a real good outlaw shot, keeping you form wildly moving the aiming reticle around the screen hoping for a hit. Even if you want the satisfaction of knowing you created your own shot you can still turn it off. There is rarely a moment when you feel that you can't get out of a situation, the sense of being under control at all times makes you feel at cool as John Marston really is. That leads me to another thing, John Marston is one of the greates characters ever. I felt like all the decisions he was making I would have made and it really connected me to him. This is a solid lengthy game, it took me about twenty-one hours to complete and that time flew by, it seems so long ago I was in Armadillo helping out the marshal and it actually feels like all that time has passed and that I had been through so much to get where I was. Fifteen hours in I was so immersed in the world that I felt like I pretty much was John Marston. My only downside is about the controls, John walks around kind of loosely and it can lead into some odd situations in the platforming areas of the game, but honestly that would be nitpicking because it's such a small part of the game.

The graphics in Red Dead Redemption are phenominal, the textures are generally fantastic and all the characters look great. It suffers from the Assassins Creed 2 effect of not looking as good in cutscenes but still this is one of the greatest looking games of all time. Plus the horses look insanely good.

The openworld is put to good use here, all the characters you meet are interesting and have their own story that I was dying to hear more of. There were moments of the game where I felt I was getting nowhere in my main goal of killing my former gangmates but when the game finally did move on I couldn't wait to get going to my next interesting location.

Overall this is a great game with a good story and an amazing, living world to explore, but wow that ending was insane.
