A great story with no back up

Star Wars the Force Unleashed is a decent game with a great story, but the gameplay doesn't back the greatness of the story.

The gameplay in the force unleashed isn't anything special, hit a button for force and a button to swing your lightsaber. That's really all you need to know. It's a very repetitive game that'll have you visiting most places twice so you've gotten to know the enemies quite a bit. Each level will have you mowing down waves and waves of easy enemies with the occasional slightly more difficult enemy, then you face a boss and your done and repeat. If it wasn't for the story in the game none of this would be worth doing. The game can't decide whether to be easy or hard, at one point it'll shove way too many enemies at you and you'll barely make it out alive and at another point nothing will even touch you.

The graphics in Force Unleashed are good, but nothing great. The enviroments look really good, and the characters are good enough for me not to complain about them and for the most part the frame rate holds up fine.

The story is the really good thing here, Starkiller is a much more likeable character than his name would imply, his story is as good as any other Star Wars character. Most of the other cast of characters don't really do the same though, only Starkiller and a little of Darth Vader show a lot of personality.

Overall you'll want to keep playing to find out what happens, but you'll have to put up with repetitive gameplay to get there.
