Just when you thought the thrilling adventures of famed writer Alan Wake were over, The Signal throws us back into this compelling narrative with Wake desperately trying to escape The Dark Presence.
Pros:
- Picks up right where the main story left off with a nice continuing story.
- Same great gameplay and atmosphere.
- Much more challenging encounters this time.
- Most of the characters like Barry Wheeler and Thomas Zane return and are fully voiced.
- If you bought Alan Wake new, you get this for free!
Cons:
- The blatant advertising returns and is at points even worse than before. The "can you hear me now?" line made me cringe.
- The final encounter can feel a little anti-climactic.
Despite the aforementioned in-game advertisement, I was thoroughly impressed with The Signal. It's got the same depth of detail you'd come to expect from the game, and at the end it leaves you wanting more.
