Bart's Nightmare is set in place of Bart's dreams as he looses all of his school work and has to track it down through crazy and wild dreams. You take control of Bart, and then start walking around Evergreen Terrace with some awesome music and sound effects going on around you. You have to look for papers flying around, which is his homework. After that, you walk into one of two different colored doors in which it is a different type of level. The game consists of 6 levels, in which can be very difficult and frustrating. Levels vary from Bart Man in the air with a cape shooting people from The Simpsons universe with your slingshot, and the levels is pretty much a side scrolling shoot em up.
The control for Bart's Nightmare is pretty straight forward, but feels pretty clunky, and doesn't feel like the greatest game you will ever control. Some levels vary from platforming to shooting targets, climbing buildings and avoiding falling objects. But all in all, most of levels are pretty fun to play, but get bland and boring easy, with pretty straight forward mechanics, and nothing to flashy really happening. The visuals look fairly nice, and resemble that of The Simpsons universe, and look like the show.
Bart's Nightmare is by no means an excellent game, but is very fun when it can be, andyou should check it out if you see it around. By no means run away from this game, I recommend you play this game, to play it for what it is, and may not be the greatest game and is still fairly playable. One last mention, and that is that the soundtrack is superb, and probably the best part about this game, and really adds to the package, as well using some music from the actual show, plus original kickin tunes on the plus side.
