After trying out the shit-stain experience that is Civilization Colonization, I again went searching for a game that will let me enter a time warp and build my glorious empire. I was recommended this game from Skulldoogy after ranting, “I wish there was a Civilization that was streamlined and had good graphics.” An hour later I was breaking treaties and adopting slavery. The graphics in Civ Rev are googleplex years beyond its predecessors. There are battle animations that are fun to watch, the interface has been streamlined extensively to work on the Xbox 360, and it features some nice additions such as combining 3 units into an army. I found myself slobbergoating on the couch instead of lurching over the keyboard. This game is nearly as full featured as Civilization IV.  However, I have failed to find a map that resembles Earth, it lags when there are many units, and finally the game feels short to me after a victory that took me a only a couple hours. In conclusion; this game fits the bill, despite it’s shortcomings there is nothing that trumps this in terms of turn-based empire building. I hope we see another Civ Rev in the future.
