Ever since I was a kid I've been living the castlevania dream. Sometimes staying up all night waiting for the next release. Once again this happened. I remember 1 year ago talking with a friend, saying that symphony of the night would be the ultimate multiplayer game. Everyone could join up, look for all the secrets together, and ultimately unlock everything together, all within the same game. So when I heard this was coming I nearly died in excitement. But now, after staying up all night for it's release I've nearly died from the execution of something which could have been much better. It looks like Castlevania (on the DS), it plays like it (sorta, you do have a whip), but it simply doesn't stand up to the legendary upbringing over the years. It's short lived when playing Co-Op, it has little to no reason to upgrade or level up weapons, and it all feels recycled graphically. I'm sure you'll still want to try it as I did, but just don't expect much. I can only hope the upcoming 3D adventure gets the polish it so deserves, and this doesn't end up being a precursor to a disaster.
