Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a 3rd person shooter for the PS3. The shooting element in Uncharted is similar to the one found in Gears of War. Basically you have to find cover or else the bad guys will kill you really quickly. Once you find cover you shoot at them using a wide variety of modern weaponry such as mini-uzis, pistols, AK-47s, and SPAS Shotguns. I found myself running out of ammo a lot, so I would waste an AK clip on a few mercenaries then have to switch to the pistol and get some headshots. These gunfights are very intense and at times fairly difficult. Other than the shooting there is some platforming in the game and this is great as it allows you to take a break from all the crazy gun fights and participate in some death defying leaps of fate. Thankfully the platforming isn't ridiculously hard so you probably won't find yourself frustrated from falling off a cliff 50 times. Here and there you also get a good dosage of vehicular combat. Uncharted is not only great in the gameplay department, it features some of the most impressive visuals in gaming to date. Some people argue that Gears of War looks better than this game, but I have to say that they are tied. This game is really a titan as far as graphics go, the jungle environment looks amazing. Sure Crysis does jungle environments the best, but this game has a certain styIe to it that I really like. It is a mixture of cartoonish visuals and realistic aspects, I can't stress this enough, Uncharted looks ******* amazing. In the sound department Drake's Fortune is pretty good. Great voice acting and good sounds for the weapons and everything, but I honestly can't remember if the game had any music... I guess you could say it wasn't very memorable. If it did have music I'm sure the music is decent (even though I can't remember it 
). As far as the story in this game is concerned it is fairly basic and typical, but a lot of fun to follow regardless. Basically Nathan Drake finds Sir Francis Drake's diary which contains a map to El Dorado and he tries to find it. With the help of his friends, Sully and Elena he has to go through all kinds of traps, puzzles, and plenty of bad guys who are also in search of El Dorado in order to find the ultimate treasure and discover the fate of Sir Francis Drake. The characters are really likeable in this game and that makes the story a lot more enjoyable. The only problems I really had with the game was that it felt a bit drawn out towards the end and there was one part that had me cursing at the screen and ready to throw the controller (I rarely get that frustrated), but I'm not going to go into details about it because it contains a spoiler.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune provides a seamless mixture of extreme gun fights and India Jonesesque platforming with a very fun storyline which like the platforming element, reminds me of India Jones. This is one of the best console games I have played for some time now and I highly recommend it as a rental. The lack of multiplayer and incentive to replay the game (other than the fact that it is a lot of fun) is the only thing holding me back from telling you folks to go out and buy it. This game is fantastic. If you own a PS3, enjoy 3rd person shooting games, liked Gears of War, or just like action games as a whole you really need to play it.
